The countdown is on; only seven weeks to go for our annual Mt Garnet Races and Rodeo weekend on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of May. We look forward to catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.
Thank you to everyone who attended the working bee over the Australia Day weekend. We successfully erected buffer zones around the amenities blocks, trimmed and cleaned up the usual troublesome trees, and completed plumbing work throughout the grounds.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mark Rankine and his team for their valuable work on our power supply. Additionally, we appreciate the Rodeo Committee for allowing us to use their facilities for the BBQ; it was a great way to unwind at the end of the day.
The forecast of heavy rain sent everyone home early. We have many members and camp holders in the rain-affected area. We hope you all got through the extreme event without any major problems.
Thank you to ALL 61 camp holders for your contributions toward the aging
infrastructure in 2024, and to those who have already made their contributions for 2025. It is disappointing that of the 61 camp sites benefitting from the upcoming work, only 3 felt they should not have to contribute, and their behaviour toward the Trustee was unacceptable. We have received numerous requests from individuals interested in having a camp on the reserve, and many of them have expressed a willingness to assist with ongoing maintenance around the grounds.
Tickets for the annual event will be available for purchase on April 2nd. The
weekend pass will remain priced at $130.00. Rising costs associated with hosting these large events make it challenging to avoid increasing the entry fee.
Therefore, the Trustee, Turf, and Rodeo committees are asking for any voluntary help you can give to support the annual weekend.
The Turf and Rodeo committees are diligently preparing for another successful event. See you there.
